May Photo Scavenger Hunt

It's springtime here in the midwest and in  my opinion time to get outside and enjoy the warmth after a long winter.  For me that means pulling out my camera and snapping a few pictures along the way.  I happen to LOVE nature and so that is one of my favorite things to photograph.  I also really enjoy "going exploring" as my son calls it, especially when we do it together.  I would like to share my love for photography and nature with my son, who has been clamoring to use my camera, and I really enjoy the idea of a scavenger hunt.  Put the two together and you get a Photo Scavenger Hunt!

I want to share the fun with you....


So get out those cameras, any old one will do, from high tech DSLR's to point and shoots, to those camera phones and join with me.  It will be a wonderful way to share some time with your kid(s), significant other, or just to practice using your camera.  Sometimes it is easier to practice with the camera if you have a goal or subject matter, instead of trying to figure out what to take pictures of.

Only rule....  Have FUN!!! And definately let your kids take a shot or two.

Click on this link to get your free pdf file of the May Scavenger Hunt list.  Put it somewhere that you will take a look at it on a regular basis.  Once you have some pictures, here are a couple of ways to join in the fun

•  Share your fun on my Facebook page, go to my Light of World Photo Facebook page, like me, and share your photo there.  I will be posting mine and my son's pics there.
•  If you are on Pinterest, send me your username & follow my May Photo Scavenger Hunt board where you will then be able to pin your photo there.
• If you are not interested in sharing your photos publically I still hope that you get outside to play around with your camera and "go exploring" this month anyway.

I think that this will just be a fun thing to do as a family, but don't get overwhelmed by thinking "oh my goodness I have to get my camera out EVERYDAY!  How on earth do I find the time to do that?"  It is supposed to be fun, so if you miss a few days, don't worry about it.  If you take 5 of your pictures in one day, that's fine!  If you don't go in order, no problem!  Believe me, I won't be going in order myself :).  Share them with us anyway!  I look forward to seeing your pictures!
