Photo Friday - Light and Fun Apps

#Leaves with #sunlight shining through. #springnaturehunt

Along with my travel blogging, I am always looking for ways to practice my photography.  This past week or so I have been obsessed with light, light rays, sun's rays, etc.  I find it fascinating how the light shines through things and the way it makes things glow and shine.  It has been so much fun to practice this.  I am doing a Spring Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt through Go Explore Nature and I am also doing a photo a day through Traveling Mom.  You can follow that on Instagram
@ #TMomPhoto  Both of these have allowed me to have some fun stretching and practicing my skills in different ways trying to make my photographs unique.  Surprisingly it has been fun playing around with my camera phone.  I was a total camera phone hater but with Instagram and Snapseed apps I have been having a blast with my camera phone.  Snapseed is a Nik Filters app.  I have used Nik Filters with Photoshop for several years now and have LOVED it!  There are several filters you can use from your classical soft filters, to black and white, to more obscure filters like Bleach Bypass.  Even better both apps are free!  You should check them both out and start having some fun with your camera phone :)!

Tree Flowers! Are these dogwoods? They look pretty but smell horrible. #springnaturehunt #spring

Follow all the fun I am having on my Facebook page or via Instagram @LightofWorldPhoto.  I do have a photography website as well.  I hope you get out and have some fun with photography!

  2. So pretty and great considering they were from a smartphone. I'm one of the few who hasn't embraced Instagram yet. These are all very inspiring though, Sere. I will need to look into Snapseed as well. Thanks for this!

    1. I know Mary I was totally with you on the whole camera phone thing. But with all these new filter apps it makes it fun to play around with and sometimes not having to carry my big Nikon is nice. I hope you give it a try
